This notice explains what GIPAN collects through this website, why it is used and the choices available to you.

Information we collect
When you choose to receive GIPAN updates, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, preferred language, state/FCT, topics of interest, preferred update channels and your consent. Name and phone number can be optional depending on the form. When you contact or participate, we collect the information you choose to submit in that form.
Why we use it
We use submitted information to provide the update service you request, organise subscriber preferences, respond to enquiries, review community contributions, maintain service security and improve GIPANâs public-information service. We do not sell subscriber information.
Consent and choice
Update subscriptions require an affirmative consent choice. You may stop receiving updates or request a change to your preferences. Until a self-service preference centre is activated, requests can be sent to privacy@gipan.org.
How information is stored
Form submissions are stored in GIPANâs protected administration system and are accessible only to authorised operators. Message-delivery credentials are managed separately and are never published on the site.
Sharing and service providers
GIPAN may use service providers needed to host the site, deliver messages, protect the service or operate communications. Providers should receive only the information required for their function and remain subject to appropriate contractual or legal obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law.
Retention
We aim to keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, legitimate operational records or applicable legal requirements. Subscription records should be deleted or anonymised when they are no longer needed.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or withdrawal of consent. Contact privacy@gipan.org and provide enough information for GIPAN to locate the relevant record without sending sensitive credentials.
Security
GIPAN uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect the information submitted through this site. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so suspected privacy or security incidents should be reported promptly.
